I received my CD yesterday, which was a lovely surprise as I hadn't been expecting it so soon, and I gave it a listen last night and again today in the car to and from work, and- wow, what an album! Although you obviously have a sound all your own, I've got to say that I was reminded in a couple of places of Xandria, both by the gorgeous melodies and (some) of Emily's vocals- which in my book is no bad thing, as when Lisa was their vocalist they were one of my favourite bands (it remains to be seen if they'll stay so with their new vocalist!). I like the fact that there's no ballad, it makes a refreshing change, and when you can end an album with a track as strong as No Compromise, well...

The design and artwork are absolutely stunning too; you must all be so proud (as we the fans are proud!) to be flying the flag for the UK - it's high time we had a UK band that can match any of the big names on the scene.

PS What have I missed, what's happening on October 12th? is it some sort of official launch party or something?

Yeah, launch party at the Intrepid Fox in London...

*Puts old music journo hat on*

Honestly, I can't fault the album on any major level. For me to be able to continue listening to every song months later and not skip any is a very big deal. I can't even do that with other bands I truely love and have no personal connection or loyalty to. To add to that, your live performances have gone from pretty good to bloody brilliant without being horribly polished. The album is professional, well produced and deserves the praise it is getting, although I just wish someone would write something a little less gushing! The Ravenheart reviews are so madly gushing that I wouldn't really believe them if I didn't know the album as well as I do!

The only thing I don't like out of everything you've done is Thunder Rising and that's not even your song. And it's a personal taste thing; I don't like the original much either, plus I tend to have a love/hate relationship with most covers anyway.

*back to normal Laura*

I bloody hate it! It's far too good and will take Andy away from me when you end up touring the entire world!!!! ;)

Another review - a poor score this time - only 9 out of 10 ;)

" Yeah, launch party at the Intrepid Fox in London..."

Oh right, thanks.

Well I wouldn't drink too much guys.....(I know, some chance...) we've visited there a couple of times when we've been down to London and thought it was a cool pub, but Gary was so traumatised by the fetid Lovecraftian stench of the Gents toilets that I've avoided staying there long enough to need the Ladies! Still wish we could be there, though. we'll have to make do with the support slot at the Threshold gig instead.

The album is just bloody great! I've had it on at home and in the car since Monday and it's so good to hear the songs on disc that we're so used to hearing at your shows. I expected greatness, and got something better... so what's the word for that? Dunno. I can definitely see where Ali is coming from when she mentions Lisa from Xandria, as Emily Alice does resemble her vocally in some parts! Certainly no bad thing though! Musically it's superb too. "Army of the Damned" is a strong favourite of mine and i have a new found love of "My Pale Prince". Artwork and production... it's all been said before so i can just echo that.

Shame i won't be seeing you for a while though, but at least i have this album now! All is not lost.

Hi guys,

Just wanted to say - got the Album through the door a couple of days and been giving it hard rotation.
First saw you guys at Bloodstock after wandering into Sophie's tent after not being impressed with Arch Enemy and saw you guys setting up - stuck around and glad we did!

And gutted i missed the gig in Manchester on Monday - since i'm only up the road.

Glad to see more fans up here!!

3K's in Kerrang this morning. Opinion seems to be that it is a good album with a lot of potential for the future but little is original."Good for this stuff" is one quote from the reviewer Ray Holroyd. By no means bad though.

The headline by the way is "London's answer to Nightwish need a few more ideas of their own", which is pretty lazy and predictable journalism.

Meh...3Ks is what I thought would happen. It's a bloody shame too as it just means they don't care.

My French isn't great but I don't think this is the best review in the world but putting it into Google translator doesn't make a lot of sense either! You did get 7/10 though.

The Dr. Who of Metal. LEMMY. Tom said it already, Journo kop out, instead of an innavotive well thought out piece that informs people what the whole shebang is all about, all they can come up with is a fashion phrase thats trotted out for just about every band in the genre.
Pythia are a million miles from what Nightwish do, but readers of a mag that represents boybands wiv attitude, don`t deserve you anyway.
