Just found out a few days ago that Battlelore are back over here supporting Finntroll for a few dates.
We're hoping to go to Leeds Rios on 30th September, since getting down to the Underworld for the previous Saturday gig would be too pricey at such short notice - would be looking at best part of two hundered quid for the train before hotel costs.

Anyone else going?

I'm thinking about Finntroll in Manchester though I'm not too fussed about Battlelore, their BOA performance didn't really grab my attention.

Yeah they were pretty poor at Bloodstock, but the appalling sound didnt help them - the singer was wasting her breath for the first song or two as her mic was either off or so far down in the mix it was inaudible.

You can get past bad sound with a strong performance. I'm not writing them off, just so far nothing has grabbed my attention.

Her weird stomach thrusting as attempts to headbang creeped me out too much to watch much too.

I love Finntroll but I'm not BL fan. I'll be at the Underworld gig if I can.

I like both bands. I saw Battlelore once in a small-ish club in Swansea and they put on a great show. Finntroll are a band i'd love to see live. I wish i was going to one of these gigs!

I've only see Battlelore the once, on last year's Finnish Fire tour in Islington, but I had no complaints. I don't really know Finntroll but suspect they are going to be similar to Korpiklaani - I'll have to go look them up on You Tube. Gary loved Korpiklaani, but they weren't really my cup of tea. Anyway, I've ordered tickets for Leeds as Gary seemed pretty confident he'd be able to get time off work - if not, we'll have to do a there and back in the night without stopping over, which would be knackering, to say the least!

Yep also be at the Underworld if no dates clash. I thought Battlelore at Boodstock were ok.

Dear PYTHIANs

I will be at Finntroll at the Underworld meeting a very important A&R man so the more PYTHIA T-shirts lurking about the better. It all helps.

TSG x
