Typical how a decent gig comes VERY close to me in Southend when I'll be living elsewhere! :P

I'm a bit confused, (it doesn't take much) : does this mean the two days would have two completely different line ups? We should be able to get to the Birmingham gig, although we had planned going to Croydon for the one day Witchfest International as Inkubus Sukkubus are playing there (again), but this sounds much more tempting.

I assume it'll be the same line-up for both dates. Dave will have to confirm that though. Dave? Dave? You there??

Ok, having checked out prices for getting the train to Birmingham and back for the Saturday event, and finding the cheapest appeared to be running into the hundreds (got a special offer when we went before, got a really decent deal), we are now toying with the idea of going to Witchfest at Croydon on the Saturday, then getting the train out to Southend on Sunday to catch the event there, and coming home via London on the Monday.

Will mean a load of travelling, but if we book when the train tickets are realeased in the next week or two will be probably be cheaper than getting to Birmingham- yes, will mean three hotel nights instead of two, but one and a half days of entertainment, so I reckon it's got to be worth it!

Edit: have just thought to check Delain's website, after getting no definite answer to my query above whether the same bands are playing both venues, and they are only listing the 7th Nov in Birmingham, no mention of the 8th. Which would be a bit of a shame, as we were really keen to see them.

I'm pretty sure Delain will only headline Birmingham. Another band are headlining the 2nd day, which will be announced very soon!

I think i'll be at the Birmingham one.

Damn right you will - the Southend one clashes with the Pythia gig so isnt an option :D

Ok, have made the decision to go for Witchfest after all rather than enduring the tediously long coach journey to Birmingham, which was looking like the only viable option of getting there (and still bloody expensive!)

Unless a really unmissable band is announced for the Southend festival, it looks like we'll be going along to the Pythia support gig on the Sunday after all, so it will be great to catch up with some of the forum folk again. I've only heard one Threshold track; I'm going to have to check them out.

Rumour has it that Sirenia are headlining the 2nd day of Femme Metal Fest. It hasn't been confirmed yet though.

A nice big poster for you

Lahannya has just been confirmed for Brum! Gonna make Leighton very happy

I'm gonna be at Southend date. Apologies to Pythia for missing them again, but this line-up at literally my door step is a sin to miss! (and I really want to see Triaxis and Apparition again).
