Lacuna coil are playing a pre Download gig at Camden Barfly on June 11th. Annoying that I'll miss it but will see them at Download.

Tickets likely to sell very fast.

Dammit...I can't make it. :( And I'm not going to Download either.

I might hate the new album but I'd still like to see if they can pull it off live

Didn't take any pics i'm afraid. When i'm at a gig i get in to the music, not a great one for photos.

Enjoyed them as usual and they only did about 4 or 5 of the new songs and some of them were being played for the first time so the set was mainly the old classics i've enjoyed in the past. Sound wasn't fantastic at times but the atmosphere was great with only about 200 people packed in there!

They didn't get onstage til about 10 (doors opened 90 mins late!) and half the band took the opportunity to get pretty pissed in the same pub as Emily and myself until pretty late. The effect on one band member in particular was obvious to all as he lurched onstage to begin the set! :D

Here's the setlist, new one's in red!

To the Edge
Fragments of faith
Swamped
I won't tell you
I'm not afraid
Fragile
Entwined
Not enough
Daylight dancer
Heavens a lie
Enjoy the silence
Spellbound
Our truth
1.19

:( Now I really know I'll never see the LC I love again...where's the good stuff?!? (yes, I admit, some of those songs are ok but there's a lot of good stuff that could be on there)

They can't play everything sadly and it's bound to mainly be newer stuff. I miss "When a dead man walks" but happy enough with the rest. They are still a very good live band and i always thought they were better live than in the studio anyway.

Emily doesn't really like "Shallow Life" but thought the same i think.

We didn`t get Swamped or Daylight dancer at Download.
But there sure was more than 200 fans to play to. Like Portsmouth, I was in the second row, taking pictures(see the download thread) The band were up for it.
The atmosphere at the 2nd stage was better than the main stage IMO, and so was the Tuborg stage 3 as well.
Something struck me while watching Lacuna Coil, and the other bands on, until Motley Crue. They don`t know how to use the full width of the stage, strange. But the Crue were always running up and down the wings of the stage. True entertainers.
