I thought we could start a thread for any single reviews that appear, as it *should* have been officially released yesterday

I've found this one which isn't too bad: http://www.rock-metal-music-reviews.com/single-review-pythia-sarah-bury-her/

PYTHIA..'SARAH (BURY HER)'

(Goldaxe2) Reviewed 26th August 2009

This little platter is awesome, and Pythia, fronted by Mediaevalbaebe Emily Alice Ovenden are British!! This is a review of their single that is a taster for their new album, 'Beneath The Veiled Embrace', that will hit us in October. If the full length album is gonna be anything like what is on offer here, then we should prepare ourselves. Because it seems we have a band that will challenge the femme scene of mainland Europe, and could well come out winners. Three tracks on offer, and 'Sarah (Bury Her)' the single sends shivers down my spine. This track is totally 100% mind blowing, and has to be a contender for symphonic metal single of the year..no kidding. Second track, the Gary Moore song 'Thunder Rising' is equally as awesome. There is also an acoustic song for our enjoyment, 'Tristan'. When the album gets released, it is a must buy. Meanwhile, pop to their myspace www.myspace.com/pythiamusic, check them out and buy this, and pre order 'Beneath The Veiled Embrace' while you are there too. 9.5/10 (Reviewed by Dave)

I take exception to the part in the rock metal review that states "this genre is inherently cheesy" WTF?

Received my single a while ago, by the way, but have been a bit too busy to get on here and say thanks, so.......thanks! Needless to say, am really looking forward to the album. I'm off to order our tickets for the London gig now...

Power metal IS inherently cheesy, though that's not a bad thing as far as I'm concerned

Now I look back, the phrase they'd used earlier was 'Euro-gothic, femme fronted, power metal style' - so ok, I'll concede that power metal can be cheesy (especially having seen Sonata Arctica and their other-support-that-wasn't Epica-but-that-I-can't remember-the-name-of in London a while back, Ye Gods, more cheese than my refridgerator), but 'gothic, femme fronted' ? Not in my book!

Hang on, just remembered that you've got Brian Blessed guesting...
damn, think I've just lost my own argument there!

(PS Only joking, Brian, we love you to bits! the man is an national institution.)

That would be Ride The Sky. I can't really remember their set (intoxication). I think they've split up now.
